Hired First is seeking an experienced Lead Pharmacist / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and deliver high-quality patient care. This leadership role requires a strong background in hospital pharmacy practice, staff supervision, and operational management.
The Lead Pharmacist will serve as both a clinical resource and operational leader, working closely with the care team to optimize medication safety, ensure efficient workflows, and support patient-centered outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesDirect, manage, and supervise daily pharmacy operations in compliance with professional, legal, and regulatory standards.
Develop outcome measures and integrate into quality improvement initiatives.
Implement, monitor, and evaluate departmental policies and procedures.
Oversee and mentor staff with performance feedback, training, and professional development.
Manage pharmacy purchasing and inventory to ensure cost-effective supply and availability.
Evaluate and optimize pharmacy information/dispensing systems for accuracy and efficiency.
Prepare monthly operational reports with analysis and recommendations.
Support staff education, orientation, and competency development.
Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and participate in continuing education.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Candidate RequirementsEducation & Credentials:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (required)
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) preferred
Completion of PGY1 residency preferred
Current, valid pharmacist license (Arizona license strongly preferred)
BLS certification (required within 30–90 days of hire)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of pharmacist experience (including at least 2 years in management or PIC role)
Hospital pharmacy experience required
Demonstrated leadership and staff supervision experience
Ability to lead pharmacy operations, counsel patients, and ensure safe/effective medication use
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of current medications, drug interactions, and regulatory standards
Adaptability to manage both clinical and operational responsibilities
Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and teamwork
Schedule & CompensationSchedule: 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts; flexible with 10-hour shifts as needed)
Contract Duration: October 6, 2025 – January 3, 2026
Rate Range: $68.00 – $80.00/hour (depending on experience)
