- Experience: Five years of professional experience with at least two years of management experience.
- License: Current and valid state Pharmacy license required.
- Certifications: BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy;
PharmD preferred, including 1-year residency. - Preferred Experience: Experience in hospital pharmacy practice preferred.
The Pharmacy Retail Supervisor directs, manages, and supervises daily administrative operations to ensure the highest quality service response and delivery consistent with established professional, regulatory, and governmental standards.
They develop operational and financial outcome measures, track and monitor systems, and integrate efforts into organization-wide quality improvement systems.
The supervisor directs, implements, and evaluates the development of departmental, functional, and service-related policies and procedures.
They proactively assess program, service, and functional effectiveness, making consistent efforts to facilitate continuous process improvement.
The supervisor develops and supervises staff through timely feedback and appropriate human resource policies to support professional growth and desired performance standards.
They plan, direct, implement, and evaluate computer-based information and dispensing systems to ensure ongoing efficiency and accuracy of data capture.
The supervisor develops, manages, and supervises purchasing and inventory management functions to ensure cost‑effective inventory management while providing timely availability of pharmaceuticals and related products.
They facilitate the professional growth of staff by accurately assessing learning needs, styles, and barriers to learning, and coordinating learning opportunities.
The supervisor prepares monthly progress and operational reports, identifying areas for improvement and recommendations.
They participate in departmental orientation, on-the-job training, and quality assurance programs and initiatives.
The supervisor also takes part in various departmental and educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels while discussing performance or training needs.
Other duties may be assigned as requested.
