Job Description:

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Hospital Pharmacy Technician to work alongside our pharmacy team in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment. The Hospital Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in various pharmacy operations, ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of medications to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Medication Dispensing:
Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with established protocols, dosage forms, and patient-specific requirements.
3. Inventory Management:
Assist in maintaining hospital pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and supplies.
4. Patient Care:
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care, including home medication verification and addressing patient inquiries.
5. IV Compounding:
Prepare intravenous medications and sterile products using aseptic techniques, ensuring compliance with USP , and guidelines.
6. Emergency Response:
Assist during emergency situations by preparing and delivering critical medications as needed.
8. Documentation:
Maintain accurate and organized records of medication transactions, compounding activities, and controlled substance logs.
9. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all federal and state pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA, USP, DEA, and Arizona Board of Pharmacy.
10. Quality Assurance:
Perform routine equipment, inspections, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) in the state of Arizona.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medications, and dosage calculations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced certification, such as IV certification.
• Experience with pharmacy automation and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
