We’re hiring a Porter Lead to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon!

Job Summary:

Responsible for the cleanliness of all public areas, staff organization and the function of their particular assigned shift.

The Details:

Position Type:
Full-Time, Year-Round

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Schedule:

Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • The Lodging department is committed to creating a culture of guest service at Grand Canyon National Park. All our roles in the lodging department, regardless of front or back of house, are considered guest facing/guest service positions. Our expectation is that this role will play a key part in achieving exceptional guest service.
  • Ensure standard of cleanliness in public areas in adherence to company and departmental guidelines, including snow removal through inspection of all areas.
  • Assume full housekeeping duties, which occur after Housekeeping shift is over.
  • Assist in the training and development of all new porters.
  • Report to the Porter Manager and Assistant Porter Manager on the performance of the employees, and make recommendations on areas that need improvement.
  • Become familiar and adept with all areas of porter responsibility. Ensure that employees meet the department standards for safety and effective use of all equipment.
  • Control keys, vehicle, master and room keys, and maintain security of all guest rooms in hallways and surrounding grounds.
  • Maintain productivity and quality in projects and minor repairs.
  • Remain available at all times while on duty.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management policies, including wearing required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
  • Use porter van for assigned duties only. Never pick up passengers under any circumstances except on instructions from supervisor.
