HR Generalist / Talent Management, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Where You Will Work
Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open‑pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed‑ore leach pad and stacking system, a low‑grade run‑of‑mine leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.
Morenci is a company town offering housing and community amenities such as a newly constructed daycare and community center, library, health‑care facilities, fitness centers, a movie theater, skate park, and recreational activities for families.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with site HR and Operations leadership to advise on HR and labor regulatory issues.
- Implement Human Resources goals, processes, practices & systems to build organizational and people capability (staffing, performance management, training & development, employee relations).
- Assist and support employment and compliance‑based investigations under direction of HR team members.
- Support workforce planning and forecasting initiatives aligned with site and Corporate HR processes and goals.
- Implement cost‑effective and practical HR solutions while ensuring the ability to attract and retain required skills.
- Assist with projects and HR improvements as directed by leadership, facilitating change management, engagement, coaching and advising stakeholders.
- Protect and maintain privacy of employee personnel records, including compensation information.
- Represent the company during legal and binding arbitration, appeals board, and open‑door processes to settle disputes with employees.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- OR
- High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years professional human resources experience.
- Understanding of core aspects of Human Resources Management (staffing, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, leadership development, training, etc.).
- Ability to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism, poise, and diplomacy.
- Consultative and collaborative style and approach.
- Confident communicator at all levels of the organization, written and verbal.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment and ambiguous business conditions.
- High level of integrity and absolute confidentiality.
- Leadership qualities that create a positive team culture and inclusive environment.
- Prior experience providing generalist support in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
- Experience with an alternate dispute resolution process.
- Experience working in Success Factors, SAP or other HRMS.
- Experience using data to make decisions.
- Experience conducting complex investigations and documenting results in a comprehensive investigative report.
- Understanding of the staffing process from vacancy to hire.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Estimated annual pay range: $58,000-$78,500 (base salary only).
