Job Title and Basic Information
IT RISK AND COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST SENIOR – Regular Requisition. Requires Secret clearance and US citizenship.
Job OverviewAdvancing a career while supporting national security, this role assists the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) in protecting and securing the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN). The position focuses on implementing and monitoring cybersecurity measures across various Army life‑cycle stages, using the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to achieve system accreditation.
Key Responsibilities- Support the protection of information systems and assets, ensuring safety and preventing unauthorized access or destruction.
- Collaborate with enterprise teams and stakeholders to integrate information assurance into system planning and development, ensuring security is a core part of all enterprise systems.
- Drive enterprise‑wide defense‑in‑depth strategies and security hardening initiatives to secure the network and its assets.
- Apply RMF to resolve cybersecurity challenges, achieving accreditation for Army IT systems.
- Utilize DoD security hardening, collection, and assessment tools such as STIGs, ACAS, SCAP, and Nessus to evaluate system vulnerabilities.
- Create technical documentation, security architectures, and network diagrams using Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.
- Document and present security findings with strong technical writing, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Education:
Security
X, CISSP, or any relevant computing environment certification. - Experience:
Eight or more years of related experience in cybersecurity and risk management. - Technical skills:
Documentation and system authorization artifacts (e.g., System Security Plan, continuous monitoring plan, Security Assessment Report, Risk Assessment). - Clearance:
Current Secret clearance; ability to maintain and obtain further clearances as required. - Other requirements:
Current understanding of Army Enterprise LWN capabilities, tools, procedures, and operational constructs; proficiency in RMF.
- Competitive salary range: $85,000 – $115,000 (subject to experience, location, and contract).
