Make a real impact in education as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter supporting young learners. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with PreK and Kindergarten students, ensuring every childs voice is heard and understood. Enjoy a full-time scheduleabout 30 hours per week with early release every Fridaygiving you a great balance between meaningful work and personal time.
In this role, you will:
- Provide professional interpreting services in American Sign Language within classroom and school settings for PreK and Kindergarten students
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, teachers, and staff
- Support accessible learning experiences and foster student participation
- Help create an inclusive environment for D/deaf and hard-of-hearing learners
- Adjust communication styles and interpreting techniques as needed for age-appropriate understanding
To thrive in this position, youll need:
- A valid EIPA certification at a passing level
- IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Demonstrated ability to interpret fluently in K-2 academic environments
- Experience working with young children or early learners is highly desired
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and adaptability
Youll be based on-site during school hours, providing essential support:
Monday to Friday, 7:55 AM 2:50 PM, with a half day every Friday.
