Project Control Manager

Role Summary

Site-based Project Controls Manager responsible for leading all project controls functions on a large, high-risk capital project from FEED through execution and handover. This is a hands-on Owner’s team role
, requiring deep project controls expertise, strong leadership capability, and the ability to mentor and support project teams across multiple sites as required.

The role reports into project and corporate leadership and plays a key role in schedule, cost, progress measurement, risk management, change management, and reporting
.

• Lead and manage all project controls activities
  , including planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, risk management, and reporting.
• Perform hands-on cost engineering and controls work while overseeing the broader project controls function.
• Establish and maintain project baselines for cost, schedule, and progress in accordance with company standards.
• Identify, analyze, and communicate cost and schedule trends, risks, and impacts
  , and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage change management processes and ensure timely identification of scope, design, and schedule changes.
• Ensure accurate progress measurement based on defined rules of credit.
• Lead development, review, and maintenance of project schedules aligned with the master schedule.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, Construction, and HSE teams.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, stage-gate processes, and industry best practices.
• Prepare and deliver accurate, timely reports and presentations for project and corporate management.
• Mentor, lead, and manage a multidisciplinary project controls team, including staffing and performance management.

Rotation: 4 weeks onsite / 1 week off (off week may be worked based on project needs)

Stipend: $750/month (while onsite)

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field with 12+ years experience in project management, including 8+ years in a project controls leadership role

OR

• High School diploma/GED with 16+ years experience in engineering, construction, project controls, or business, including 8+ years in a project controls leadership role
• Strong hands-on experience in cost control, forecasting, reporting, and schedule management
• Willingness to travel to other project or corporate locations as required
• Ability to work extended or variable hours to meet project demands

Preferred:

• Owner’s team experience on large capital projects
• Mining or heavy industrial construction project experience
• Strong Primavera scheduling expertise and capital project planning best practices
• Experience with ERP systems, estimating software,
  SAP and Eco Sys
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and cost management systems
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-risk project environments
