Role Summary

The Production Shift Supervisor provides field supervision and coordination for the assigned shift. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and consistent production of cement, pozzolan, clinker, raw mix, and solid fuels, while enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policy across all plant operations.

This position exists to ensure safe, compliant, and consistent execution of shift-level production operations. The Production Shift Supervisor coordinates plant activities during the assigned shift, provides leadership to Production personnel, and supports the Production Coordinator, plant leadership, Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, Traffic, and other departments by investigating and resolving production issues, responding to abnormal conditions, enforcing safety and environmental requirements, protecting equipment, and maintaining operational continuity.

• Investigate and identify production issues, make operational decisions, and take corrective actions.
• Provide field supervision and coordination for the shift, ensuring proper risk assessment, LOTOTO, and all other safety measures are followed.
• Ensure consistent production of all cement, pozzolan, clinker, raw mix, and solid fuels within established quality guidelines, ensuring appropriate actions and communications for any deviations.
• Ensure plant equipment is operated in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Communicate significant issues to the appropriate department(s) and the Production Coordinator as necessary when unexpected events occur.
• Conduct process line inspections; complete regulatory forms and correct any defects.
• Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company Policies.
• Maintain accurate shift logs for all plant activities.
• Conduct an effective shift turnover with the incoming supervisor and communicate equipment status, active work, LOTOTO conditions, environmental concerns, quality issues, production constraints, maintenance activities, contractor work, and other significant plant conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Pyroprocessing, milling, grinding, and crushing processes.
• MSHA and SOP requirements, including LOTOTO, Cardox, confined space, and hot work procedures.
• Federal, state, and local regulatory requirements (MSHA, ADEQ, EPA).
• Production quality guidelines and shift log/reporting practices.

• Identifies and resolves production issues that occur daily and require immediate, high-consequence operational decisions.
• Analyzes process line inspection findings and equipment conditions to determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Exercises independent judgment during unexpected events, determining when to escape to the Production Coordinator or other departments.
• Balances production output, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance when making shift-level decisions.
