Community Engagement Assistant

Responsible for dissemination of Agency initiatives that provide families with the services they need to move into and maintain self-sufficiency.

Coordinate and staff activities that promote awareness of MVCAA and the services offered. Assist with recruitment of program participants and staff. Assist with training for staff and families. Assist with activities for families and the community to promote the mission of the Agency, i.e., Poverty Simulations, Community Cafes. Data entry and reporting as requested. Assist with establishing partnerships in the community to provide a network of support for families.

Provide appropriate presentations to groups, clubs, and civic organizations throughout the target area regarding the agency’s mission and related activities when requested. Serve on agency and community committees and advisories when requested. Performs other duties as requested.

AAS in Human Services, Marketing/Public Relations, related field or equivalent experience. Experience in event planning. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms. Ability to work weekends and evenings when required. Willing to travel to all sites, training’s, visits, etc. as necessary and requested. An understanding of Community Action history and mission.

Ability to work with a wide variety of people.
