Senior Pastor Position – First Southern Baptist Church, Willcox

First Southern Baptist Church of Willcox, Arizona, is prayerfully seeking the next Senior Pastor to lead our congregation as we continue to love God, serve our community, and grow together in faith. First Southern Baptist is a spiritually and financially healthy, unified church with a strong foundation and a heart for both discipleship and outreach. Our average Sunday morning attendance is approximately 75, and we are blessed with vibrant ministries, including an active Sunday School program, flourishing women’s and men’s ministries, and ongoing opportunities for service and spiritual growth.

Our former pastor faithfully served for 16 years before retiring, and we are excited to see who God will bring to guide us in this next season. Our facilities have been recently updated and are in excellent condition. In addition, the church provides a recently renovated parsonage located just a few blocks from the church, offering a comfortable home and convenient access to both the church and the community.

Willcox is a friendly, close‑knit community in southeastern Arizona, known for its rich history, beautiful high desert landscapes, and thriving agricultural industry, especially vineyards and cattle ranching. The area offers nearby opportunities for hunting, hiking, and golfing. Located approximately 75 miles from Tucson, Willcox provides access to the advantages of a larger city while maintaining small‑town charm and a welcoming atmosphere.

It is a peaceful environment with meaningful opportunities to engage the community and make a lasting impact for Christ.

The ideal candidate will have ministry experience, whether as a Senior Pastor, Associate or Discipleship Pastor, Youth Pastor, or through other significant ministry leadership roles such as mission work and pulpit supply. He will demonstrate a strong commitment to biblical preaching and teaching, a heart for pastoral care and relationship‑building within both the church and the community, and the leadership ability to equip and mobilize the congregation for ministry and outreach.

The candidate must align with the beliefs and practices of the Southern Baptist Convention and be in full agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. We are seeking a pastor who is approachable, grounded in Scripture, and passionate about making disciples, strengthening families, and reaching those far from God.
