Registered Nurse (RN) – Obstetric Care Unit
Location: Chinle, AZ
Employment Type: Will be flexible to allow for short-term (13 weeks), long term (1-year to 3-year) and where feasible, include intermittent support to meet unplanned needs that develop on a frequent basis
Shift: 11.5 hours for days, 12 hours for nights, totaling 6 - 7 shifts every 2-week period including weekends, holidays, rotating day and night shifts, as scheduled
Start Date: Urgent / ASAP
We are urgently seeking an experienced Obstetric Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to join a critical healthcare team in Chinle, Arizona. This role supports a high-need patient population and plays a vital role in ensuring safe, high-quality maternal and newborn care.
This position is best suited for RNs who live within a few hours' driving distance of Chinle, AZ, and who are open to working in a remote, rural setting.

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to obstetric patients, including labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Administer medications and treatments per clinical protocols
- Educate patients and families on prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- ACLS, BLS, NRP and Fetal monitoring (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Comfortable practicing in a rural or resource-limited environment
- Previous rural or community healthcare experience
- Experience in high-acuity or multi-role OB settings
- Ability to commute from nearby regions or maintain flexible housing arrangements
