This contract position requires applying advanced pediatric nursing knowledge to support patients of all ages and their families, ensuring quality care that adheres to established medical and nursing standards.

This role is based in a unique region of Northwestern Arizona situated on the Colorado Plateau. The community offers a diverse cultural blend of Native American tribes including Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute alongside Anglo, Hispanic, and African American populations. The healthcare center serves an expansive 4,400 square mile area, functioning as a key referral hospital with 73 beds, specialized surgical services, and various outpatient care facilities.
The surrounding semi-desert landscape provides a one-of-a-kind environment with elevations ranging from 4,400 to nearly 7,000 feet, offering a distinctive living and working atmosphere.
- Deliver nursing care across pediatric and general patient populations following physician orders and established protocols.
- Work independently to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians and specialists.
- Maintain thorough documentation and comply with hospital policies and standards.
- Support patients and their families with compassionate communication and education.
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
- Valid, current, and unrestricted Professional Nursing License from any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
- Certifications to maintain throughout employment:
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation (P-CAR) (completion within 6 months of hire) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completion within 6 months of hire.
- Orientation sessions conducted every two weeks.
- COVID and flu vaccination exemptions may be considered upon submission of declination forms.
- Housing is limited; shared units may be available with restrictions on pets and family.
- No Arizona state license required; the facility accepts nursing licenses from any U.S. state.
