Position Details

Job Title:

Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)

Duration: 3-month base + 7 option periods of 3 months each (up to ~24 months total)

Schedule:

Full-time clinical coverage (may include day, evening, weekend, and holiday coverage based on facility needs)

How Many Shifts Needed per Month:
Approx. 520 hours per 3-month period (~20-22 shifts/month equivalent)

License:
Active, valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN - CNM) license in any US state

Certifications:

Board Certification from American College of Nurse Midwifery (ACNM), BLS / CPR, ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), DEA License (Schedules II-V)

Experience Needed:
Minimum 6 months of experience in CNM specialty required

Special Skills Needed:
Labor & delivery management, Prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, Newborn care and resuscitation, First assist surgical skills / OB procedures, EMR documentation, Ability to work in federal/tribal healthcare settings

Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6-8 Weeks

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive midwifery care including prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum services
  • Perform patient assessments, examinations, and clinical procedures
  • Assist in deliveries and surgical procedures as required
  • Provide newborn care and neonatal resuscitation
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams
  • Ensure compliance with IHS, CMS, and federal healthcare standards
  • Participate in quality assurance and patient care improvement activities
