Registered Nurse (RN) Radiation

Location: Litchfield Park

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Procedural RN to join our Interventional Radiology services team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between pre-operative care and the operating room for patients undergoing interventional proceduresunder local MAC sedation. There is also some light occasional travel and back fill in ourIn-office urology procedure suites for vacation/sick coverage.

Key Responsibilities Pre-Procedural Care:
Assess patients prior to surgery, have records ready for theCRNA and provider for consent.

IV & Medication Management:
Safely initiate peripheral IV access, maintain lines, and administer pre-operative medications including IV antibiotics according to physician orders and infection control standards. Maintain drug counts with CRNAs and Managers.

Patient Transport:
Safely transfer and accompany the patient from the pre-op holdingarea to the operating room.

Patient Positioning & Prepping:
Assist anesthesia and the surgical team in safelypositioning the patient on the operating table. Prepare the patient's operative site using approved skin-prepping protocols.

Sterile Field Support:
Work in and around the sterile field. Open and distribute the fewsterile supplies that are unable to be opened pre-operatively. Document times andmeds given intraoperatively.

Department Support:
Help with minor PAT requirements and patient questions. Assist with monitoring and communicating supply and anesthesia needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program;
Associate’sDegree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).License:
Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in thestate of practice.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS, PALS or CNOR certification is a plus not required).

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, with previous experience in perioperative and procedural suites

Skills:

Excellent IV starts, robust understanding of the perioperative area, critical thinking, adaptability, and a strong balance between communication and active listening to promote positive interactions with the team.
