What You'll Do:
  • Performs all required grounds-keeping duties including planting, mowing, raking, trimming, weeding, fertilizing, and watering.
  • Performs reclamation efforts such as erosion control, falling or dead trees, and seeding.
  • Performs irrigation as required for farming and pasture operation.
  • Helps maintain the domestic water and sewer systems, water wells, irrigation system, and water lines.
  • Performs light maintenance and repair for ranch facilities.
  • Completes preventive maintenance and minor repair work for all operating equipment.
  • Watches and listens for malfunctioning equipment, appliances, etc.; reports current problems or anticipated problems; repairs by own discretion or calls for outside service, as authorized.
  • Repairs and paints exteriors as needed.
  • Maintains fences and, when appropriate, builds new fences.
  • Puts up indoor and outdoor seasonal decorations and outdoor lights on various houses and outbuildings as requested; takes decorations down and returns them to storage.
  • Feeds and medicates animals on a case-by-case basis.
  • Feeds livestock and dogs as part of daily chores, frequently outside the normal 8:00 to 5:00 workdays.
  • Hauls away and properly disposes of household and area trash.
  • Provides transportation as needed.
  • Keeps personal pets and other animals only as approved on a case-by-case basis; adheres to condition that, in no case, will animals be allowed which are dangerous, uncontrolled, noisy, or interfere with pets, horses, or other animals of family members.
  • Communicates and cooperates with the caretakers, owner, guests, customers, and employees, outside service agents, and if applicable, law enforcement agencies in order to maintain secure, courteous, and professional environment.
What We're Looking For:

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education with relevant agricultural work experience, handyman skills, and equipment maintenance skills; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivation and ability to complete many tasks and work without direct supervision.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • English language fluency, verbal and written.
  • Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
