Maintenance Laborer

City of William Position Description Full-time Position (Grade
4)

Performs semi-skilled maintenance of the City’s facilities and grounds and provides landscaping services.

  Maintenance Superintendent
• Directs:
  This is a nonsupervisory position.
• Other:
  Works with the general public and other City employees and performs landscaping and maintenance services. You must be 18 to operate the equipment necessary to perform the job.

• Performs routine maintenance, including cleaning, mowing, and weed eating at park areas and other City‑owned facilities and properties.
• Sets up and takes down for special events.
• Performs other related duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

• Familiarity with City and OSHA safety requirements.
• Knowledge of MSDS for each chemical used.
• Use of proper safety equipment when performing tasks.
• Knowledge of how to use the following equipment correctly: weed eater, riding lawn mower, push mower, hedge trimmer, and chainsaw.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment safely, including weed eaters, lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws.
• Ability to back up trailers and drive water trucks.
• Ability to use and wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and be exposed to outside elements and objectionable materials.
• Must possess a current, valid Arizona Driver’s License when hired.
