Qualifications
  • Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CPA or CA).
  • Minimum of five (5) years post‑qualification experience in accounting within a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing is an asset.
  • Practical, relevant experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong math skills and ability to analyze data.
  • Strong listening and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment with a variable workload (flexible hours).
  • Ability to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgment.
  • Effective interaction with other team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality, using discretion and tact.
Duties
  • Complete accurate and consistent accounting records.
  • Adhere to Government and Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Perform banking functions and bank reconciliations as required.
  • Review all capital expenditures to ensure proper account code distribution.
  • Maintain monthly fixed‑assets addition schedule and supporting documents.
  • Maintain monthly tooling and analysis reconciliation schedule.
  • Maintain, manage, track, and update program‑related Purchase Orders and cash disbursements.
  • Update the program proforma income statements as required.
  • Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts related to tooling inventory, fixed assets and prepare journal entries periodically.
  • Support engineering and program managers with requisition entry and related tasks.
  • Review and analyze cost accounts and prepare required journal entries for month‑end close.
  • Prepare and input journal entries into the general ledger related to tooling and fixed assets.
  • Prepare variance analyses (actual vs. budget and forecast).
  • Work closely with AR and AP team to ensure all invoices related to tooling programs are prepared on time and fully supported.
  • Prepare, update, and fully understand Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for various analysis and reconciliations.
  • Assist the Controller and Assistant Controller in preparing the financial section of the business plan and periodic forecast, along with audit tasks.
  • Perform miscellaneous other accounting functions as requested by the Assistant Controller and Controller.
  • Other duties as required.
