We at the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV – with locations in Freising and Dresden – are leading in research and development in our business fields of food, packaging, product effect, processing machines, as well as recycling and the environment.

In our daily work, we deal with current challenges of the industries we address and drive forward the future topics of bioeconomy and circular economy, health and well-being, as well as security and resilience. The department "Sensory Analytics and Technologies" deals with analytical and human-sensory methods for the characterization and optimization of product properties such as smell, taste, texture, and haptics as well as visual and acoustic appearance.

Here you will make a difference. As of now, we offer you in the department "Sensory Analytics and Technologies" in Freising, final theses as well as internships with a possible duration of 3 to 6 months on the following topics:
Analytical clarification of odors and aromas or off-odors Development and validation of miniaturized gas measurement technology and sensor systems Characterization of dynamic emission processes or aroma release VOC analytics in the areas of food, non-food, and health Human sensory investigations of food, non-food, and cosmetic products Multisensory perception processes and consumer behavior Scientific proof of claims on cosmetic products Development and application of machine learning and data analysis methods

You bring in

• Valid enrollment in food chemistry or food technology, chemistry, physics, engineering, molecular, nutritional sciences, biology, or psychology
• Careful and reliable working method
• Team capability and self-initiative
• Creativity and analytical thinking
• Fun in summarizing and interpreting publications
• Good German and English skills (at least B2 level)
• Complete and meaningful application documents (curriculum vitae, cover letter, and copy of grades or certificates)
