Hualapai Tribe – Adult Detention Center
Correctional Officers I, II and III – Full‑time positions with a salary of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.

Correctional officers are responsible for the first‑line supervision of adult offenders in detention/correctional institutions or community‑based facilities. The role requires maintaining facility security, staff and offender safety and care. Officers enforce rules and regulations in Title 25 of the Code of Federal Regulations, the Bureau of Indian Affairs Manual, and the Department of the Interior Manual 446. Responsibilities include offender classification, facility counts, fire safety, key control, perimeter security, compliance with offender rules, and conducting preliminary interviews of offenders for physical/mental health and classification assessments.
ExperienceRequirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and eligible for Tribe’s insurance.
- Drug and alcohol screening with random testing thereafter.
- 10‑year background investigation with a favorable report.
- No felonies, pending cases, DUI’s, current probation or domestic violence offenses.
- Completion of a 6‑week United States Indian Police Academy Course within one year of employment.
