Job OverviewHeavy Equipment Operator positions are available to work on heavy civil projects in the Joseph City area. The role requires operating a range of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, dump trucks, front‑end loaders, compaction gear, scrapers, tractors and water trucks. Operators must follow safety rules, procedures, policies and OSH regulations, and be committed to meeting project goals on time and within budget.
Responsibilities- Excavator Operation
Operates excavator, digging holes and trenches, removing and transporting earth, gravel and other materials, and handling stockpiles or transport trucks. Operates hydraulic attachments and uses GPS grade technology when required.
- Bulldozer – Grader Operator
Operates bulldozer or grader to gouge out, level, and distribute soil, sand, ore, rock, gravel and industrial by‑products. Utilizes attachments, clears trees and rocks, adjusts blade and attachments while maintaining grade and safety standards.
- Rock/Articulated/Dump/Roll‑Off Truck Driver
Operates truck equipped with a dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, soil, rock, gravel, coal and industrial by‑products. Controls levers or crank for dumping, and moves forward and backward to remove material from the dump bed.
- Scraper / Tractor Operator
Operates tractor‑drawn or self‑propelled scraper to move, haul, and grade earth on construction sites. Controls loading gate, depth of cut, and distributes or dumps earth as required.
- Water Truck Driver
Operates a truck to transport potable water to crews and to spray water on roadways for dust control. Maintains the truck, makes inspections, oils, greases and performs normal operating adjustments.
- Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and other related state and federal regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to use email, smart phone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.
- Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook.
- Approach and complete work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner.
