Job Description

Plan, lay‑out, install, test and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment and control systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Should have all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed.

  • Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information are available for the work.
  • Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, methods and tools.
  • Continually share knowledge and teach others.
  • High proficiency in all related trade mathematics.
  • Inspect subordinates’ work, ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications, explain deficiencies and take corrective action.
  • Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage and time.
  • Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience (Level I), four years (Level II), five years (Level III) and six plus years (Level Sr.) in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • In-depth understanding of the electrician trade; ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards and effectively use trade tools and equipment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Work up to a 12‑hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • Sto op, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
  • Use telephone, computer system, email or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
