Job Description

Manage the continuous operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of water and wastewater utility systems including potable water storage, treatment, and distribution systems.

Manage wastewater collection and distribution systems.

Ensure water and wastewater systems remain in full compliance of the Federal, State, and other regulatory requirements.

Operate a wastewater vacuum trailer.

Perform maintenance and repairs on the plumbing system, such as repair or replacement of defective pipes of the water supply and sewer systems.

Provide a variety of services of a general nature in preventative maintenance, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, emergencies, general repairs, and service calls.

Mentor lower graded employees on proper methods of operation, monitoring and maintenance of water distribution and treatment facilities and wastewater collection and treatment facilities.

Make plumbing repairs that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, replacing, packing, and sealing defective parts of utility, supply, and disposal systems such as dirty traps, sections of broken tile pipe, and leaky drains.

Manually dig ditches for repair and installation of utility lines.

Serve as project lead over the administration and compliance of utility related projects.

Area Information:
Petrified Forest National Park is located in northeastern Arizona 26 miles east of Holbrook, AZ. The Park has a concessions operation which includes a curio shop and restaurant. Beyond this, other services are not available in the Park. Some shopping opportunities exist in Holbrook. Greater shopping opportunities exist in Flagstaff, AZ (110 miles west) or Gallup, NM (70 miles east).

Year-round recreational opportunities abound within a short commuting distance. Elementary, junior and senior high schools are located in Holbrook.
