The Arizona Department of Correction, Rehabilitation & Reentry is currently looking for a professional BUILDING MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST to take care of our facility and keep our building safe. In this role you will be routinely involved on a daily basis in many different types of duties and tasks of general facility maintenance, repair and construction including preventative maintenance and assignments as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, kitchen equipment repairs and utility service systems at the Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) – Ft.

Grant Unit in Wilcox, AZ.

• Schedules and plans maintenance-related projects including pricing, material list, equipment and needs
• Performs maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks as required and scheduled
• Completes related documentation as required by policy and as directed by a supervisor
• Basic knowledge of office equipment including computers, internet research and completion of documents
• Inspects and maintains tools and equipment to ensure proper working order and all are accounted for
• Supervises and evaluates inmate worker’s performance
• Attends staff meetings and training as required
• Drives on State business
• Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

• Structural issues regarding building and utility service systems, including blueprints, safety practices, and codes
• Trades i.e., electrical, electronic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, general facility maintenance and preventive maintenance
• Budgeting including estimating costs and ordering materials
• Common and specialized tools and equipment for performing duties
• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and national and local building codes/regulations

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation, drug test, and a medical/physical examination.
