Position Overview:

Copper stone Mine is seeking an experienced Mine Electrician to join our Maintenance team. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting electrical systems and equipment supporting both surface and underground mining operations.

The successful candidate will have strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills, a commitment to safe work practices, and the ability to support a production-focused mining operation while maintaining compliance with MSHA requirements, applicable electrical codes, and company safety standards.

What You’ll Do:
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment throughout surface and underground mining operations
  • Diagnose and repair motors, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, transformers, electrical distribution systems, motor control centers, and high-voltage load centers
  • Install and repair conduit, wiring, electrical panels, and associated electrical infrastructure
  • Maintain electrical systems supporting mobile mining equipment, crushers, conveyors, pumps, ventilation systems, ADR/process facilities, shops, warehouses, and other site infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot underground mining equipment, including jumbos, bolters, pumps, ventilation systems, and related support equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Test, inspect, and commission electrical systems using appropriate diagnostic and testing equipment
  • Follow lockout/tagout and established electrical safety procedures
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and participate in rotating or on-call schedules as required
Experience

Required:
  • Current Arizona Journeyman Electrician License
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license meeting insurance standards
  • Three to five years of mining or heavy-industrial electrical experience is preferred. Experience with crushing and conveying systems, process plants, ADR facilities, pumping systems, underground mining equipment, Allen-Bradley PLC systems, and high-voltage distribution is highly desirable

Strong working knowledge of:

  • Three-phase electrical systems from 480V through 4.16kV
  • Motor controls and electrical distribution
  • PLC troubleshooting
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Industrial instrumentation
  • Electrical schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams
  • Industrial electrical safety practices and applicable MSHA requirements

Work Environment

This is a hands-on mine-site position requiring work in both underground and surface environments. The position may involve confined spaces, climbing, varying weather conditions, dust, noise, vibration, temperature extremes, and other conditions typical of an active mining operation. All required PPE and site safety requirements must be followed.
