Position Summary

Will supervise the shelter residents during the day/night, making sure the residents are safe. Will make routine checks to account for the resident/children, documenting all activity. Will enforce the rules established for the shelter. Will supervise during meal times and assist as needed.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of the residents throughout the day/night at the facility
  • Supervise the residents during meal times
  • Document all incidents in resident files
  • Write shift reports and brief the staff coming on duty
  • Assign sheltered resident chores and participate in the process throughout their stay at the facility
  • Assign shelter residents a day to do their laundry
  • Responsible for supervision and support to the shelter residents and families by enforcing the rules and ensuring the facility and residents are properly cared for throughout their stay at the facility
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Submit to and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and random UA thereafter
Knowledge, skills, ability
  • Have the ability to advocating in crisis situations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to deal effectively with domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault victims
Other
  • Must provide level one fingerprint card
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass initial drug test
  • Must be able to drive tribal vehicles
