Position: High School Head Football Coach

Reports To: High School Athletic Director and High School Principal

Location: Blue Ridge High School, Lakeside, Arizona 85929

The Blue Ridge Unified School District seeks a proven leader preferably with high school varsity level, head football coaching experience. This responsibility requires close collaboration and teamwork.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate evidence of leading and directing a varsity level football program, and knowledge of Arizona Interscholastic Athletic (AIA) rules, regulations and requirements. Additionally, qualified candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead, guide, develop, and support student-athletes within an atmosphere that promotes academic, athletic, and personal growth.

This role requires long hours and evening work, Monday-Saturday, extensive travel, and weekend obligations. This position reports directly to the high school principal.

Oversees student-athlete academic progress through frequent grade checks.

Administers discipline and works with teachers and administrators to ensure all student-athletes are held to high standards of personal conduct.

Effectively communicates with all stakeholders and develops appropriate relationships with student-athletes, parents, and colleagues.

Maintains a high level of professionalism and personal conduct as an example for all student-athletes to emulate.

Deescalates interpersonal conflicts, holds students accountable for adherence to the school's Code of Conduct and school rules, using methods that foster student growth reflecting the Core Values of the District:
Courage, Commitment, Respect, and Integrity.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree, a valid and current standard Arizona Teaching Certificate with a minimum of five to ten years teaching/coaching experience. A valid fingerprint card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety is also required.
