TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 Days; 12 Months

COMPENSATION: $22.50 - $24.75

REPORTS TO:

Transportation Supervisor

HOURS:

40 Hours per week, Monday-Friday

FUNCTION

Responsible for efficient maintenance of all school district vehicles/equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Basic understanding of maintenance of automotive/diesel powered vehicles, including; oil changing, greasing, tire repair, fluid levels, belts/oil levels, cleaning vehicles.

* Some diagnostics experience.

* Appropriate training and experience in automotive mechanics and maintenance.

* Familiar with equipment and machinery applicable to the position.

* Possession of Commercial Driver's License, with passenger endorsement.

* Ability to work without direct supervision.

* Ability to work varied hours, if required.

* Sound physical health; punctuality.

* Ability to relate cordially with others.

* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Implement district vehicle maintenance program: service, fuel, clean, repair all vehicles (buses, vans, trucks, cars, forklift, tractor, etc.) including accessories (glasswork, tire rotation, upholstery, etc.)

* Maintain departmental inventory (repair parts, etc.) and associated record keeping.

* Receive/unload deliveries.

* Monitor gas tank conditions weekly.

* Regular route driver and extra-curricular routes, as necessary

* Perform other duties as directed.

RELATED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* Stooping, bending, climbing, turning, crawling under vehicles, reaching, as necessary in performing mechanical and repair operations.

* Heavy lifting (80-100 lbs.), including maneuvering, transporting, placing loads

* Use of commercial tools; equipment.

* Transporting students as necessary.

* Standing/working for extended periods of time under variable conditions, i.e., indoors, outdoors.

* Working on scaffolding, ladders, boom trucks.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Twelve-month Working Agreement. Salary as determined by the Board of Education. Evaluation in accordance with Board policy
