Position SummaryEcology Auto Parts, Inc. is seeking qualified and experienced Class A Roll-Off Drivers to join our Transportation team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials utilizing roll-off trucks and containers. This role requires a valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) and a strong commitment to safety and compliance with transportation regulations. The Roll-Off Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and secure transportation of materials while upholding our commitment to environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities- Safely operate Class A roll-off trucks to transport containers and materials between customer locations, yards, and processing facilities.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies to ensure safe transportation.
- Inspect and maintain the condition of assigned equipment, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Safely load, transport, secure, and unload roll-off containers following established operating procedures.
- Complete required paperwork, including DVIRs, logbooks, delivery receipts, and other transportation documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations personnel, customers, and team members to ensure efficient transportation operations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while adapting to operational changes as needed.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of assigned equipment.
- Comply with environmental regulations and company procedures regarding the transportation and handling of recyclable materials.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 1 year of Class A Roll-Off driving experience (REQUIRED).
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, transportation laws, and safety protocols.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated reliability and commitment to meeting operational schedules.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), DOT regulations, and logbook requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to operate vehicle controls and equipment; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and enter or exit the vehicle cab and work around roll-off containers.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, vibration, moving mechanical equipment, and heavy vehicle traffic.
- Must be able to safely perform all job duties while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- This position is a field-based transportation role responsible for the safe operation of Class A roll-off trucks throughout assigned service areas.
- The Roll-Off Driver performs the majority of responsibilities operating commercial vehicles, transporting roll-off containers, and servicing customer, yard, and processing facility locations.
- The role requires regular communication with dispatch, operations personnel, customers, and other drivers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.
- Drivers are expected to perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain accurate DOT documentation, and report equipment concerns promptly.
