Shop Floor/Shipping & Load Coordinator — Full Time
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 5:00 am–2:30 pm Starting Pay: $24.45/hr

Role Overview:
We are seeking motivated individuals for a dynamic, hands-on role that combines shop floor control, shipping coordination, cycle counting, and problem-solving. In this exciting position, you'll handle shop floor coordination, shipping and sub-shipping processes, cycle counting with substantial analysis, and dispatch work. You'll communicate schedules, shipping instructions, and inventory solutions to keep everything running smoothly, inspect parts for defects, report quality issues, and maintain all required records.
Coordinator Core
Skills:
1. Planning and Organization
- Prioritize multiple loads simultaneously
- Schedule inbound/outbound freight efficiently
- Manage changing priorities without disrupting operations
- Coordinate dock doors, labor, and equipment utilization
2. Communication Skills
- Communicate clearly with carriers, drivers, warehouse teams, and leadership
- Provide timely updates on delays and operational issues
- Resolve conflicts professionally and quickly
- Deliver concise shift handoff information
3. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
- Respond rapidly to missed appointments, late trucks, and freight issues
- Develop contingency plans when schedules change
- Make sound decisions under pressure
- Identify root causes of recurring operational problems
4. Transportation Knowledge
- Understanding of route planning, carrier operations, shipping documents, DOT regulations, freight classifications, trailer capacity, and cube utilization
5. Warehouse Operations Knowledge
- Understanding of cross-dock processes, receiving and shipping operations, load sequencing, dock flow management, material handling equipment, safety requirements
6. Attention to Detail
- Verify load accuracy
- Review BOLs, manifests, and shipping paperwork
- Monitor freight discrepancies
- Ensure proper scans and system transactions
7. Time Management
- Meet strict shipment departure times
- Maintain dock throughput
- Balance urgent issues while managing routine tasks
- Avoid delays that impact customer service
Technical
Skills:
Systems Proficiency
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- ERP systems
- Microsoft Excel, Outlook & Teams
- Familiarity with freight tracking platforms
Data Analysis
- Review load metrics
- Track service performance
- Identify bottlenecks
- Analyze labor and transportation efficiency
General Requirements
- Experience with product inspection and quality standards
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, linear measuring machine, fixtures, etc.)
- Able to work standing or seated for long hours, with frequent bending and twisting
- Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling weights as specified
- Able to rotate to other zones or departments as needed
- Skill in recognizing and identifying parts, materials, finishes
- Familiarity with locator systems
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
