Inventory Control Specialist

Reports To: Operations Manager Working Conditions: Must be comfortable with changing temperatures within a warehouse environment.

Direct Reports: N/A

Position Summary:

Creates and maintains accurate records of all inventories, completes daily physical cycle counts, and verifies that product shipments and receipts are properly accounted for by working with in‑house and client systems to balance inventory to required KPI standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completes daily physical cycle counts to ensure accurate records are kept and availability of product.
• Maintains inventory tracking systems and produces reports on inventory KPI’s to warehouse and senior management using existing WMS and reporting tools.
• Conducts daily analyses of inventory locations to forecast and document potential inventory shortages or space requirements.
• Works with the WMS team, warehouse management and client as necessary to set up new items in the WMS inventory.
• Assists and makes recommendations in the plant layout discussions as necessary.
• Implements and/or maintains inventory control procedures and industry best practice.
• Accounts for all defective or damaged product and follows appropriate corrective actions.
• Conducts all annual physical inventories as necessary.
• Works closely with Operations Manager to create and maintain all SOP’s and DOP’s.

Marginal Functions:

• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times and streamline work processes.
• Provides backup support to material handling operators as needed.
• Participates in meetings regarding facility layout, process flow, inventory profiles, etc.
• Operates material handling equipment as required to complete job functions.

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
• 2 to 4 years of experience in an Inventory Control, Quality, or related role (Preferred)
• Basic math and reading skills
• Computer literacy and Microsoft Excel experience (Required)
• Prefer prior experience operating a forklift
• Demonstrated problem‑solving abilities and experience using Root Cause Analysis
• Previous experience in an automotive distribution environment (Preferred)
• Previous experience with continuous improvement plans and lean manufacturing techniques (Preferred)
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements (Preferred)
• Familiarity with SDS/Hazmat safety and OSHA safety regulations (Preferred)
• Able to follow specific instructions thoroughly and accurately, and provide instructions to other associates as needed
• Ability to understand, follow, and enforce company policies and procedures
• Ability to reach, bend, climb and lift up to 50 lbs safely as needed
• Good hand/eye coordination and motor skills
• Able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed due to customer demand

• High school diploma or higher.
• 1 year of experience performing audits of put‑away locations.
• 1 year of experience creating receipts and other transactions using the Nulogy database.
• 1 year of experience reporting raw material counts to leadership (Preferred).
