Propulsion Engineer
As a Propulsion Engineer at our Strother Field site, you will focus on troubleshooting, engineering analysis, and hardware disposition for CFM
56, CF34-8, CF34-10, and PP20 engines. You will resolve complex engine issues, develop optimized work scopes, and provide data-driven recommendations that improve engine performance, reliability, and shop efficiency. You will proactively drive cross-functional problem solving and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve complex engine and hardware issues using data analysis and structured problem-solving (RCA, five-why)
- Analyze inspection findings and test data to determine repair/replace/reuse dispositions for engine hardware
- Develop incoming engine work scopes that balance technical requirements, customer needs, cost, and schedule
- Collaborate with design, quality, and operations to implement corrective actions and drive design or process improvements
- Provide clear technical guidance and documentation to production teams, internal partners, and customers
- Complete perfection reviews certifying serviceability of engines

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years' experience in jet engine workscoping, hardware disposition, or related turbo machinery/rotating equipment engineering OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years' experience in jet engine workscoping, hardware disposition, or related turbo machinery/rotating equipment engineering
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical issues in a production, overhaul, or maintenance environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- LEAN/Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving/quality training
- Proficiency with MS Office and basic engineering analysis tools
- Experience collaborating in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
- SAP experience
Additional Information:
- Schedule:
1st Shift, approximately 45 hours/week – with paid overtime - Rotational 'on-call' availability for emerging issues
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings
- Role may require lifting and work in varying environmental conditions
