Role Overview

As a Propulsion Engineer at our Strother Field site, you will focus on troubleshooting, engineering analysis, and hardware disposition for F110 modules. You will resolve complex engine issues, develop optimized work scopes, and provide data-driven recommendations that improve engine performance, reliability, and shop efficiency.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues using data analysis and structured problem-solving (RCA, five-why).
  • Analyze inspection findings and data to determine repair/replace/reuse dispositions for engine hardware.
  • Develop incoming work scopes that balance technical requirements, customer needs, and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and operations to implement corrective actions and drive design or process improvements.
  • Provide clear technical guidance and documentation to production teams, internal partners, and customers.
  • Assist Production Supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through root cause analysis and permanent corrective action.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research trials; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, machining, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; and soliciting observations from operators.
  • Work cross‑functionally with quality and design engineers to ensure that new processes achieve established metrics.
  • Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield, effectiveness, & equipment capability.
  • Utilize lean principles to improve manufacturing efficiency by optimizing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment organization, and layout.
  • Promote and build a positive working relationship with hourly team members.
Ideal Candidate

You are a hands‑on engineer who enjoys digging into data, solving problems at the root cause, and working closely with shop and cross‑functional teams to keep hardware moving through the factory safely and efficiently.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical issues in a production, overhaul, or maintenance environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • LEAN/Six Sigma or equivalent problem‑solving/quality training.
  • Jet engine experience in workscoping and hardware dispositions.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic engineering analysis tools.
  • Experience collaborating in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment.
  • SAP experience.
Schedule and Work Environment

Schedule:

1st Shift, approximately 45 hours/week – with paid overtime.

Rotational availability for weekend coverage.

Must be U.S. Citizen, must pass background checks and mandatory obligatory mandatory mandatory drug screenings.

Role may require lifting and work in varying environmental conditions.
