Job Description Summary

This challenging position on our production team involves the assembly/disassembly of engines, components, and accessories, in accordance with technical and/or standard work practices. You'll perform comprehensive examinations and repair of hardware for return to service and airworthiness certification.

Job Description Requirements include:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience and proficiency with precision measuring instruments and devices, hand and power tools, shop equipment and machinery as assigned.
  • 5+ years of diesel mechanic, automotive, aircraft manufacturing experience, or military experience working on engines
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift 3:30pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday, with the potential for overtime and weekends as needed.
Desirable qualifications:
  • A&P License, or Automotive/Diesel Certificate
  • Mechanical ability
  • Humble: respectful, receptive to feedback and change, agile, eager to learn
  • Adept at prioritizing work, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of lean operations and a willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform engine overhaul/maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Provide routing and the movement of assemblies, hardware, tooling, and other material in support of assigned area.
  • Troubleshoot in-process problems, malfunctions, or component failures within the limitations of relevant technical procedures.
  • Verify work performed is in accordance with technical specifications, manuals or other quality verification criteria.
  • Maintain records and perform related duties.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment, produce quality results, and help control costs.
  • Comply with and support all GE and Site policies.
