Job DescriptionResponsible for providing security to the Unified Government buildings, employees and citizens. Duties include checking people entering facilities, monitoring metal detectors, and patrolling buildings. Construct professional reports and testify in court, as needed. Utilize varying pieces of equipment including fire alarms, computers, panic alarms and elevators. Must be able to effectively use firearms and taser, if necessary. This position is subject to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays.
QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and 18 years of age. Must be able to pass basic security course and pass semi-annual weapons qualifications. Course involves handcuffing, responding to active threats and defensive tactics. Must qualify with a Conducted Electrical Weapon (Taser) and pass OC qualification.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including those pertaining to search and seizure, as well as knowledge in security procedures, methods, and protocol. Valid Driver's License required at the time of application.
Salary Range: $21.86 - $28.58/hr.
