Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle in a timely and accurate manner. This role ensures that all invoices are processed, verified, and paid according to company policies and established deadlines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and a foundational understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities- Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices (3-way match)
- Ensure proper approvals are obtained prior to payment
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and vendor files
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships
- Assist with month‑end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist with audits by providing required documentation and support
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Arkansas sales and use tax regulations (as applicable)
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred - 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or government contracting (if applicable)
- Familiarity with CMMC or government compliance (if relevant to your business)
- Understanding of 1099 reporting requirements
- Office-based position in a professional setting
