DiFusion Therapeutic Biomaterials is seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant / Chief of Staff to serve as the strategic right hand to Founder and CEO Derrick Johns.
This is not a traditional administrative role.
The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of executive operations, strategic initiatives, investor relations, board communications, corporate development, and special projects. This individual will help amplify the effectiveness of the CEO by managing priorities, driving execution, and ensuring organizational alignment across multiple initiatives.
The ideal candidate possesses executive presence, exceptional judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to operate comfortably in highly dynamic environments involving biotechnology, medical devices, artificial intelligence, capital markets, and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities Executive Partnership- Serve as the primary strategic and operational partner to the Founder & CEO.
- Manage and prioritize competing executive initiatives.
- Anticipate needs, identify potential challenges, and proactively recommend solutions.
- Ensure CEO time is focused on the highest-value opportunities.
- Drive execution of special projects across corporate development, fundraising, investor relations, AI initiatives, strategic partnerships, and business operations.
- Conduct research and prepare executive briefing materials.
- Track key milestones and deliverables across multiple strategic initiatives.
- Assist with evaluation of new business opportunities and partnerships.
- Coordinate preparation of Board materials and executive presentations.
- Draft investor communications and strategic updates.
- Support fundraising activities and interactions with investment banks, placement agents, venture investors, and strategic partners.
- Maintain organization of data rooms and confidential corporate materials.
- Draft executive correspondence, presentations, speeches, and strategic communications.
- Prepare meeting summaries, action items, and follow-up plans.
- Ensure timely execution of executive commitments.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives across internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Monitor progress against strategic objectives.
- Improve executive workflows and organizational systems.
- Create scalable processes as the company grows.
- Manage complex travel arrangements and executive scheduling.
- Coordinate board meetings, investor meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with absolute discretion.
- Support select personal and family scheduling matters as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- 5+ years supporting senior executives, founders, entrepreneurs, investors, or C-suite leadership.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and AI productivity tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- High emotional intelligence and professional maturity.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Master's Degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, Public Policy, Communications, or related field).
- Experience in biotechnology, medical devices, healthcare, venture capital, investment banking, consulting, or technology.
- Experience supporting a founder-led organization.
- Familiarity with fundraising, board governance, and investor communications.
- Project management certification or experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
