Regulatory Compliance Specialist

We are looking for a Tax/Customs Officer for our Shell Technology Centre Hamburg.
In this exciting role, you will support the administrative activities related to the creation and distribution of special fuels in the F1, R&D, and special fuel areas. You will work closely with the Fuel Blending Logistics and Finance departments and act as a key interface with internal and external partners. Your responsibilities will include communication with relevant stakeholders, support of daily business operations, and preparation of CO₂ accounting.
You will also be responsible for controlling inventory entries in the CO₂ tax warehouse and regularly communicate with external service providers. The position offers the opportunity to take on expanded responsibilities in the administrative area in the medium term.
Key responsibilities include:
- Control and archiving of incoming and order documents.
- Performing incoming and rebookings in the Sample Manager system.
- Recording delivery documents and quality samples through the warehouse system.
- Documenting and controlling tax evidence of fuel blends.
- Electronic archiving of blend documentation and CQC projects.
- Close collaboration with the laboratory, logistics, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Supporting internal HSE and compliance requirements.
- General administrative support in the Fuel Blending area and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Point of contact for finance, CO2 audits, customs inspections, and energy tax inspections.
- Contribution to continuous improvement projects.
Your profile:
- You have a completed commercial education and bring several years of experience in the financial and administrative field, ideally related to energy taxes, customs, or CO2 regulations.
- You have solid knowledge of SAP (e.g., SERP) and are proficient in MS Office and ideally LIMS systems.
- You are familiar with warehouse management systems and databases.
- You communicate confidently in German and English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ideally, you have experience with the EMCS system.
- You have knowledge of tax compliance and experience with internal control systems (control frameworks).
- HSE standards are a high priority for you, and you work responsibly accordingly.
- You are experienced in dealing with external partners, service providers, and authorities.
- You have the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet agreed deadlines reliably.
- Ideally, you have knowledge of handling fuels and components in tank storages and the requirements of customs warehouse processes.
