Utility Superintendent

Metric Geo is partnered with a well-established civil contractor in Northwest Arkansas seeking an experienced Utility Superintendent to lead the field execution of underground utility & site development projects. This role will oversee the installation of water, sewer, storm drainage, and wet utility infrastructure while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day field operations for underground utility & site development projects.
  • Lead and coordinate foremen, operators, laborers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Plan daily and weekly work activities to maintain production and project schedules.
  • Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, inspections, and utility testing.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, and labor costs while identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to resolve field issues, manage schedules, and deliver successful projects.
  • Build strong relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Mentor field personnel and promote a strong culture of safety and accountability.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of heavy civil construction experience with a strong background in underground utilities/ civil construction.
  • Previous experience as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman.
  • Extensive knowledge of water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and utility installation methods.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and utility profiles.
  • Strong leadership, scheduling, and communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors on active projects.
  • OSHA certification is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
