Responsibilities:
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the project site.
- Conduct daily field safety audits, inspections, and observations.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions before incidents occur.
- Lead safety orientations for new hires and subcontractors.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and site-specific safety plans.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and develop corrective action plans.
- Track and maintain safety documentation, reports, inspections, and training records.
- Support and monitor environmental compliance requirements on the project.
- Partner with project management and field supervision to ensure safe work practices.
- Participate in pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments.
- Maintain a visible presence in the field and actively engage with workers on safety and environmental best practices.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of construction safety experience (more experience welcomed).
- Experience working on utility-scale solar, renewable energy, heavy civil, industrial, or large commercial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety principles.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive safety initiatives with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company-provided vehicle.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Utility-scale solar project experience.
- Environmental compliance experience, including erosion control, stormwater management, SWPPP compliance, or other environmental programs.
- OSHA 30 Certification (required/preferred depending on experience level).
- CHST, STSC, ASP, CSP, or other relevant safety certifications preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience supporting EPC or renewable energy construction projects.
