Purpose: Facilitate meetings to discuss students' AT needs with the educational team. Determine what materials/equipment may address student's need, Provide training to staff regarding technology for trial as needed, Facilitate funding meetings as needed, Maintain lending closet and assistive technology equipment
Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities:- Develop forms/procedures/instructions as needed for most efficient execution and support of AT process and training
- Communicate how the AT process works to districts, families and educational teams
- Observe students, evaluate, facilitate assistive technology evaluation and follow up meetings
- Create training checklists, FAQs, check lists and data collection sheets
- Support AT trial period with instruction and modeling on how to use/implement technology and collect data
- Train the programming and application of assistive technology in the classroom for trial period and once AT has been implemented for a student
- Monitor and support educational teams
- Provide yearly updates and trainings on how to use and implement assistive technology when a new team begins working with a student who has AT
- Learn, practice, and use technology/ devices
- Order, maintain and update equipment inventory, devices and warranties
- Year-end collection and documentation of equipment that is returned to AT inventory
- Share/distribute information from workshops/conferences to AT discipline staff and educational teams
- Present trainings/workshops as needed and requested
- Research application/software for assistive technology
- Collaborate with the Gavin administration to provide information and assistance in AT to facilitate student access to the curriculum
- Maintain daily attendance and punctuality according to building/department hours
- Follow all policies and procedures of Gavin 37
- Perform other duties as assigned
