REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highly enjoys working with and supporting students in a positive, productive and patient manner.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and meet requirement for background check and fingerprinting
- Paraprofessionals who work in buildings supported with Title 1 funds must meet one of the following requirements:
- Complete at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (60 semester hours) OR obtain an Associates’ Degree or higher; OR
- Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through formal state or local academic assessment (Workkeys Test, MTTC, ETS Para Assessment)
A successful candidate will…
- Support students in the school environment physically, academically, behaviorally and socially, including assisting students with auxiliary and augmentative communication
- Have professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and community; understand and maintain confidentiality
- Have the physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
PREFERRED QUALIFICIATIONS:
- Completion of First Aid, CPR, Behavior Management and Physical Intervention Skills

COMPENSATION: According to the negotiated Master Agreement with the Mt. Pleasant Support Staff Education Association (Step 1 is $14.38/hour). Full Time is 7.0 Hours/Day 35 hours/week.
