Qualifications
  • Valid Arkansas Teaching License for music education or willingness to finish alternate route to appropriate licensure
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Essential Functions
Curriculum and Instruction
  • Teaches District approved curriculum daily
  • Uses extensive content knowledge to support individual student growth
  • Collaboratively participates in and contributes to curriculum development and creation of unit organizers
  • Implements school and/or district curricular and instructional goals, including implementing curriculum unit and developing lesson plans and instructional material
  • Implements the school and district's Model of Instruction
  • Implements the school and district's Multi Tiered System of Support including:
    • Using evidence-based Tier I instruction
    • Creating and implementing tiered interventions and extensions based on student data
  • Implements evidence-based assessment practices aligned with district systems
  • Implements the Science of Reading in all instruction
  • Progress monitors students' growth (academic/social/behavior) and reports monitoring data to Student Intervention Team
  • Creates and maintains a classroom environment and culture that is inviting to students and conducive and appropriate to learning in both appearance and activities
  • Establishes clear objectives and success criteria for all lessons, units, projects, etc., and communicates these objectives to students
  • Develops and administers content-specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels
  • Participates in the school and district-wide Social and Emotional Learning program and initiatives
Professionalism
  • Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
  • Participates in all prescribed professional development programs and activities, including but not limited to RISE training.
  • Meets requirements for Science of Reading proficiency and/or awareness.
  • Actively participates on content and/or grade-level teams within the school.
  • Participates in collegial and professional activities within the school and district.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Follows state, district, and school policies and expectations.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, ethical behavior, confidentiality, and appropriate communication in all interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Consistently uses effective and productive soft skills with all school district stakeholders.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities daily.
  • Maintains the personal safety of students at all times.
