JOB SUMMARY:
Instruct assist, mentor, and guide students in reaching their fullest potential by teaching curriculum and frameworks.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Teach district approved curriculum based on state frameworks and standards.
Prepare for assigned classes, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor. - Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt and differentiate the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Evaluate pupils' academic growth through teacher-made tests, standardized tests, checklists, observations, demonstrations, and other performance assessments; keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports.
- Identify pupil needs, make appropriate referrals, and develop strategies to support students with individual education plans.
- Make modifications for G/T, ELL, LD, physically impaired, at-risk, and other needs of individual students, including their learning styles.
- Create a safe and orderly classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student conduct, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes during the instructional day and extended hours when necessary.
- Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals, parents, and volunteers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings, PLC, and professional development activities. Collaborate with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods; assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials. Support and participate in extracurricular activities, such as PTA/PTO, sporting and cultural events, etc.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to maintain a safe and orderly environment to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Communicate regularly with various internal and external publics to develop and maintain a positive school/community relationship.
Supervise students and volunteers both in the classroom, hallways, and while on duty. Other supervisory responsibilities may be assigned by building administration.

MINIMUMEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in appropriate major or course of study.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES,ISTRATIONSValid teaching license for grade level and subject area assigned. Meets requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher designation, if applicable to the teaching assignment.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, administrators, staff and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, table, or schedule form.
