Computer Information Technology Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)
Fresno City College is seeking an equity-minded leader who can teach Computer Information Technology courses on a part‑time schedule. The candidate will collaborate with faculty, staff, administration, students and community partners to close equity gaps and promote inclusive learning environments.
Essential Functions of Position- Teach assigned part‑time Computer Information Technology courses.
- Employ varied pedagogies and integrate instructional delivery systems, including innovative technology for face‑to‑face, online, and hybrid formats.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Use effective teaching methods aligned with institutionally approved curriculum outlines.
- Assess student progress through tests, examinations, written assignments, oral responses, and other methods consistent with course objectives.
- Provide course syllabi to students.
- Maintain classroom records in accordance with District policy.
- Submit all required student grading and evaluation reports promptly.
- Teach classes in a variety of instructional settings and times, including as needed.
- Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of an instructor as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio‑economic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, especially as they relate to equity‑mindful classroom practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of directly related professional experience; or
- Associate degree and six years of directly related professional experience; or
- A valid California Community College Credential; or
- The equivalent education and/or experience (requiring an equivalency).
- Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility.
- Recent experience working with under‑represented students and an understanding of historical exclusion patterns.
- Willingness to examine and remediate instructional, relational, and classroom practices to support racially minoritized students.
- Related work and professional experience that supports inclusive education.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including students with disabilities.
- Experience facilitating multicultural and cross‑cultural communication with sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of assessment methods, community college mission, and college goals.
- Proficiency with computers and technologies used for high‑quality instruction and student support.
- Strong communication skills with students and staff.
- Newly hired part‑time faculty will be placed on step one of the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
- Salary classification placements will be based on education and experience as outlined in the Part‑Time Faculty Salary Classifications.
- Sick leave accrual is based on assignment hours.
