Summary

The Training Coordinator develops the curriculum for craft and technical courses with input from other resources to provide employees with the knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely, effectively, and efficiently. This position collaborates with other personnel to develop and implement personal training plans and schedules to train employees in the various tasks they are expected to perform in their roles.

The position also helps coordinate the requisite HR and Leadership training for employees. The Training Coordinator measures the results of critical training programs and adjusts them to significantly enhance the skill and effectiveness of our employees in meeting our customers' needs.

What you’ll be contributing
  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Organize, develop, or source training programs to meet specific training needs.
  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.
  • Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external training suppliers.
  • Coordinate off‑site training activities for employees.
  • Provide train‑the‑trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
  • Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects KPIs.
  • Partner with plant management and internal stakeholders regarding employee training needs that will drive manufacturing excellence.
  • Partner with neighboring community colleges to establish training curricula and programs.
  • Ensure implementation and effectiveness of an onboarding and early development program for new employees.
  • Partner with Plant Management and HR to maintain accurate training records.
  • Assist in assessing training needs for new and existing employees.
  • Assist in identifying internal and external training programs to address competency gaps.
  • Partner with HR to develop a mentoring program for new and existing employees.
  • Assist plant management in mapping out training plans for individual employees.
  • Work with Plant Management and Corporate VPs to develop and manage the training budget.
  • Work with Plant Management and Corporate VPs to establish training and development teams at each plant.
  • Establish relationships with local colleges and schools for training resources.
  • Partner with vendors for training opportunities they may offer.
  • Partner with the Safety Manager to facilitate MSHA training to maintain legal compliance.
  • Conduct task training refreshers.
  • Facilitate leadership training as assigned.
  • Partner with maintenance and electrical groups to develop competency‑based training.
  • Partner with training coordinators at other plants to develop training programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
To succeed in this position, you will need
  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Minimum 4 years – bachelor’s degree in engineering, training, or related technical fields.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial plant operations and maintenance with significant experience in mechanical, electrical, process, and control systems and related fields. Experience with adult instruction and learning principles along with experience in training and instruction.
