Job DescriptionPosition Title: High School Special Education Structured Learning Classroom Paraprofessional
FLSA: Exempt
Reports to: Principal and/or other Supervisor
Terms of Employment: 185 day contract
Qualifications: 60 hours of verified college credit or successful completion of the Paraprofessional Praxis.
Essential Job Functions:
- Attend training as required by the district
- Work under the direction of the Structured Learning Classroom Teacher
- Communicate with supervising instructional staff, a variety of health care professionals, and professional support personnel to communicate progress and/or implement IEP objectives.
- Provide personal care to students
- Accompany students to and from school activities, indoor and outdoor, and participate in activities as directed.
- Supervise individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
- Possess the ability to stoop, kneel, lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Assist students up/down steps and stairs and in/out of vehicles
- Possess the ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time
- Maintain student confidentiality
