The Computer Science Teacher is responsible for instructing students in foundational and advanced computing concepts, including programming, algorithms, data structures, cybersecurity fundamentals, and digital literacy. This position emphasizes problem‑solving, critical thinking, and real‑world application of technology skills to prepare students for higher education and careers in technology‑related fields.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging computer science instruction aligned with state and district standards.
- Teach programming concepts using one or more coding languages.
- Instruct students in computational thinking, algorithms, data structures, and software development principles.
- Integrate educational technology tools and coding platforms into classroom instruction.
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to support academic growth.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration.
- Participate in professional development and faculty meetings as required.
- Comply with all district policies, state regulations, and professional standards.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Valid Arkansas teaching license or ability to obtain appropriate licensure/certification.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Strong understanding of computer science principles and effective instructional practices.
- Experience with educational technology tools, coding platforms, and digital learning environments (preferred).
- Ability to foster student engagement and encourage innovation and creativity.
- Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and all required employment screenings.
- Must meet all state and federal requirements for employment in a public school.
- Citizenship, legal residency, or appropriate work authorization required.
- Salary and benefits according to the Green Forest School District salary schedule and board‑approved benefits package.
- Contract length and work calendar as determined by district needs.
