YOUTH MINISTER
First Baptist Church, Ashdown
Summary:
The Youth Minister is responsible to the Pastor for assisting the church in planning, coordinating, and leading the student ministry of First Baptist Church, Ashdown, with a primary focus on students in grades 7 through 12. This role includes discipleship, Bible teaching, outreach, event leadership, and support for students and their families.

- Work with the pastor, appropriate committees, and program leaders in planning, evaluating, and coordinating the youth ministries of the church.
- Plan and direct various fellowships and trips, while maintaining a strong integration of the youth in the life of the greater church.
- Train up and utilize both adult and teenage volunteers by equipping them to both serve and lead in the church.
- Conduct or coordinate weekly youth Sunday morning Bible Study and Wednesday evening Bible Study.
- Conduct special training projects for youth workers as needed.
- Manage and maintain expenditures within the allotted Youth Ministry budget.
- Plan and direct parenting seminars and workshops.
- Counsel youth and parents as needed.
- Lead in youth visitation and outreach.
- Develop relationships with local school officials and to speak and/or visit in the schools.
- Remain informed of current trends in youth education programs and youth culture.
- Encourage evangelism and assist both workers and youth in reaching students who are not connected to Christ.
- A clear Christian testimony and a demonstrated commitment to biblical ministry.
- Sufficient understanding of the Bible and its teaching consistent with FBC’s statement of faith.
- A heart for discipleship that prioritizes long-term spiritual maturity over program growth or entertainment-driven engagement.
- Ability to teach and disciple students in a Christ-centered, age-appropriate manner.
- Strong relational skills with students, parents, volunteers, and church leadership.
