Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus is the regional provider for technical and career education, offering more than 25 programs with a variety of industry specific options, as well as certificates of proficiency, technical certificates, associate degrees and general education coursework. The Ozark Campus is located on I-40 between Fort Smith and Russellville, Arkansas, in the city of Ozark. The campus, which is more than 26 acres and includes a half-mile exercise path and disc golf course, is located along Arkansas Highway 23 North in Ozark, Arkansas.
The city of Ozark, with a population of approximately 3,500, is located on the banks of the Arkansas River and surrounded to the north by the Ozark National Forest and to the south by the Ouachita National Forest. Located to the west of Ozark is the city of Fort Smith, a commercial and industrial center for western Arkansas. Russellville, home to Arkansas Tech University's main campus and an area of vigorous industrial development, is located to the southeast of Ozark on Interstate 40.
The Coordinator of Student Recruitment works under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions and is responsible for planning and developing strategies concerning student recruitment and conducting field visitations and campus tours. This position is governed by institution policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- The Coordinator visits high schools, distributes and presents promotional materials, discusses campus information with groups, counselors, students and parents, collects information needed from students to answer inquiries concerning academic offerings and collects pertinent information concerning visits
- Coordinate, schedule, and conduct tours of buildings and grounds for visiting students, answers questions about campus, and provides brochures relative to campus programs
- Arrange and conducts workshops, seminars, and conferences and advises students concerning curriculum and career opportunities, assists in determining admission eligibility, and assist with advising, registration, and financial aid
- The Coordinator of Student Recruitment has frequent contact with high school officials, students and university personnel
- Knowledge of the higher education curriculum, degree areas, campus life and activities and student aid programs
- Ability to coordinate and conduct field visitations and campus tours
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Adept at social media and technology
- The formal equivalent of an Associate Degree (60 college hours) or equivalent work experience
- Experience in students services
- Strong organizational skills
- Public speaking experience
- Customer service background
- Bachelor degree or higher
- This position is housed at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus and frequently travels to high school and community events
- Occasional travel and work beyond normal hours is required
